Frédéric Bousquet, sculptor

Silent and Sound Sculptures

The fundamental character of Frédéric Bousquet's works is based on the use of noble, manufactured and contemporary materials (stainless steels, titanium, glass, composite fibres, etc.) to produce mechanical assemblies. Their manufacture is based on manual know-how and industrial mechanical production, for which Frédéric Bousquet has been trained.

In addition to the static parts, the interest of his work lies in the mechanical interactivity that the works suggest to the public. Through a number of transmission systems (crosses, eccentrics, gears, etc.), it is the public that sets the sculpture or generators in rotation, creating the excitation of the system, the dynamics, the volumes (sort of solid holograms) and the possible generation of sound signals.

Pulsars

The PULSARS family comes from a research conducted since 2000 on the rotation of generators and/or deformable bodies. The movement is then generated by the action of the public or natural elements. These kinematics, sometimes with sound (sound sculpture), mainly exhibit a kind of amulet in an abstract geometric universe.
